How Many Loves do You Have?

I have noticed that for the most part, quilters are very creative people. And they don’t ‘only’ quilt! They spread their creativity around in sewing garments, scrapbooking, knitting, crocheting, etc etc. We just can’t keep our creativity bottled up, and we only have so many hours in the day we can devote to quilting, therefore we branch out. And doesn’t our family love it? My house looks like Project Central.

I tried scrapbooking, found I like making cards the best. And since they are quite expensive to buy, along with wrapping paper and bows, why not make your card? You can find sentiments to write in your card at many sites. Since Mothers Day is coming up, I googled ‘Poems about Mothers’ and found many links.

You can google just about any subject and find sentiments or poems that are available for use in your personal card.

I do love to knit, lace mostly, but find I have to be in the mood. I’ll go through knitting jags where I’ll be knitting all day and then times when I don’t pick up the needles for weeks. Same with crocheting.

Right now I’m on a garment making spree, and taking a class at Craftsy on The Couture Dress. So much fun!

I like to make doll clothes as well - and I knit those socks she's wearing!

Of course the problem with so many loves, is that you need a stash for each and every one!!! And space to store that stash. Therefore, since my sewing room is full, I put a cutting table in the dining room. I have a huge dining room – it’s the size of two of my living rooms. I’m tall, so cutting out on the dining room table just wasn’t working for me. I took a banquet table that I’ve had for years, and purchased some bed risers to go under each ‘foot’ of the table.

And of course, when the camera comes out, Lucy must be center stage

I covered the underneath with some fabric I stapled to the table, creating MORE storage space. Clever eh? If I want to cut out quilt pieces, I just bring my cutting mat and cutter/rulers out to the dining room.

Extra yarn is stored upstairs in the so called guest room. And extra fabric, scraps, books, etc. If we ever had a guest I’m not sure what we would do with him/her! So, what are your other Loves? It’s ok, you can tell us! They needn’t be kept secret any longer – share your other Loves so we can go ooh and aah over them!

See you next week, when I’ll share my Mothers Day project for my mother! (she doesn’t read this blog)
